Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be improved by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases depending on its rarity and.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their value.

There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available all over all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and many require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components required for a particular item. The price of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item. However, you can reduce the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a merchant or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia or a rune. Many are upgraded by suffix upgrades. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any kinds of mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's eye and spark curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, which makes them more effective in conveying messages across language barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the likelihood of remembering a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an Artifact. This range is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by, not the amount that it actually improves it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're creating it for.
Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
You can remove a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item in which it is installed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered as a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at once. This is useful for players who suffer many hits from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and can be found through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a brand new random affix that is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll a percentage chance for a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolling is upgrade item to upgrade an item. However, players must be aware that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final level. This is evident on rings and Diadems, since they have no other options to raise the ilvl.
The Reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item that would allow players to alter their builds without a lot of time and energy. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to implement at this time in the game's development. They're planning to include the ability for players to alter their race in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This increases the value of upgrading any stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for an individual stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to remember that upgrades are random. Most of the time, a better roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or exclusive item to a unique kind of item, it's likely to gaining a higher level.
Upgrades to items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading a piece of gear from the normal to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the base iLevel as well as the number of levels to upgrade. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.
The iLevel can also change according to the upgrade path and base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an exceptional item is likely to be upgraded to the enhanced defense of the new base type of item.
