Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The most effective way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to enhance your gear without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items effectively.
Upgrading equipment grants a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus is based on the rarity and level of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor better. You can acquire them by destroying enemies, finding them in item spheres or buying them from karma dealers. You can also get them from equipment that has the components or through high-end salvage kits like Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded, however, they also serve other purposes. They can be used to increase the level of experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. A glyph that has been crafted can increase the upgrade chances of its target while a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense attributes of a weapon.
You can attach an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be updated. Alternatively, you can make use of the workbench to choose an upgrade template. In either scenario, an item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.
item upgrader has its own experience multiplier, which determines the amount of experience an item receives when it upgrades with that component. Organic components, for example, have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore recommended to upgrade using organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of weapon or gear, and then change to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the upgrade type of the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon of 10th level. The most popular weapon upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items which share the benefit of. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade increases its guaranteed bonuses. The first time you upgrade an item, its initial stat will be +1. After subsequent upgrades the primary stats will be boosted a little more (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is boosted randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to have a greater maximum defense roll than their base. Upgrades can be a great option to increase the value of some set and unique items, but it's important to note that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus, it can be rerolled once and its guarantee will be reset to zero. The same power die is used to reroll an item as it would be used to level it up. However the new item comes with different bonuses. The NPC [Armor] Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and can be purchased using Gold. The NPC will also offer an extra reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled one time using the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough tokens. When an upgraded item is to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for the version at a level 1 of the same item from a different set. Reroll tokens can be bought at the store for small amounts of in-game currency. However, they aren't refundable. The new upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will be different also.
Players can alter the identification of their equipment, in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identity from a weapon to armor or vice versa, all the while maintaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and communicating with the item's upgrader NPC. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, the item type, and the number of crests. item upgrades will add 5percent more damage to weapons.
Upgrades can increase the capability of an item, but they also can decrease the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items require upgrades to make them more effective. A player might want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modification ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to explore what else it can be.
Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People use it to try to obtain a character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise have. These items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to play ball. The only other options are to spend real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can choose to level up the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I think it was meant to to give some value to rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and can only be upgraded after a certain amount of levels it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets old enough. It's also not worth it to level items that have gem sockets as the power of the gem will far outweigh the higher ilvl that comes with the upgrade.
When you click the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to boost the level of the item. The cost will differ between armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template shows the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. Additionally the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be reduced by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For example, an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base, the item will also receive upgrades in other stats such as critical strike damage, damage from PvE and dodge, block and parry rating. These increases are also based off the upgrade template.

The amount of defense and damage the item receives as it gets leveled up can be seen below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Aside from practice equipment, all other weapons and armor gain these same stats when upgraded. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. The same applies to other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
